Solutions for Missing Teeth

When you are dealing with missing teeth, there are several options available in terms of getting them replaced, and these options vary when it comes to pricing, durability, and stability.

The right method of teeth replacement for you will depend on a few different factors, including the number of teeth you are hoping to replace, your budget for the procedure, and whether you want a permanent solution or a solution that is easily removable and will likely need to be replaced every few years.

Talking to your dentist about your needs and priorities can help you narrow down your options and hone in on which one may be the best choice for you, but it is also important for you to do your own research so that you know what to expect from different methods.

Building a better understanding of all the different options available to you can allow you to better assess the choices that will or will not provide you with the results you desire.

Why Is It Important To Get Your Missing Teeth Replaced?

Before discussing the details about all of the methods of teeth replacement available to you, it can be helpful to review why it is so important to get your missing teeth replaced to begin with.

When you are dealing with missing teeth, it can lead to a variety of symptoms and difficulties, including the following:

  • Having a hard time eating certain foods

  • Self-consciousness pertaining to your appearance, especially if you are missing your front teeth

  • An increased risk of damage occurring to your surrounding teeth

  • Issues with your speech

  • Increased risk of your other teeth becoming crooked

  • An increased risk of developing gum disease and cavities

  • Deterioration of your jawbone, which can lead to sagging in your face over time. This sagging becomes worse when multiple teeth are missing.

A common misconception is that as long as your missing teeth are not visible, you probably have nothing to worry about. However, the fact of the matter is that the longer you have missing teeth in your mouth, the more likely it becomes that you will end up experiencing negative consequences to your oral health.

Thus, even if your missing teeth are largely unnoticeable, you may still want to consider getting them replaced in order to avoid wreaking havoc on your remaining teeth.

What Are the Conventional Methods of Replacing Teeth?

There are a variety of options available when it comes to getting your missing teeth replaced, and it can be helpful to start your list off by learning more about traditional, conventional methods that have been used for decades. These methods, while effective to some degree, vary in several different ways. While some conventional methods are more affordable, these methods tend to lack the stability that is necessary for your tooth replacement to last. Alternatively, other conventional methods are more expensive, but are also more durable and secure.

With conventional methods of replacing missing teeth, there is no perfect solution that comes at a low cost while still getting you the great results you deserve, and this is why Stabili-Teeth™ was created as a lower cost, same day alternative to other methods.

All of this being said, let’s talk about the conventional methods you can choose from.

Conventional Dental Implants

Conventional dental implants are often used to replace a single tooth, but can also be used to replace several teeth or a full set of teeth. Dental implants are made up of a titanium post, titanium screw, or frame that is surgically placed into your jawbone, and then once your mouth heals, these posts are used to hold prosthetic teeth.

As your mouth heals, your jawbone grows up and around the metal post in order to hold it in place, and this means that you need to have enough bone to adequately support implants. If you do not have enough natural bone, you will need to undergo an extra procedure known as bone grafting or jawbone augmentation, which adds on to your bone to make sure your implants will be supported properly.

In most cases, bone augmentation procedures are an extra cost added onto the cost of your actual dental implant placement procedure, which can make this method more costly than you bargained for. Conventional implants alone are very expensive and generally cost several thousand implants per implant, which means that if you are looking to have multiple implants placed, the costs can add up quickly.

Conventional dental implants do offer adequate stability, but the very high costs make them impractical for many patients, especially those who need a full arch of teeth.

Fixed Bridges

A fixed bridge is a method of teeth replacement that works to fill the gaps in your mouth where you have missing teeth. A fixed bridge is a type of bridge that is bonded or cemented in place and is attached to your surrounding teeth in order to keep it secure, and it can only be removed by your dentist.

In order to get a dental bridge, your nearby teeth need to be prepared, and this process generally entails either grinding the teeth on either side of the gap down or placing crowns or caps on them so that the bridge can be attached. This means healthy, additional teeth will be lost in addition to the missing tooth a patient is trying to replace.

That said, bridges have the advantage of being more affordable than dental implants, but they are not ideal if your remaining teeth are healthy and you do not want to damage them. Additionally, it can be difficult to sufficiently clean your fixed bridge, and a bridge is not as secure as implants. You will need to bring your bridge in for repairs or replacement after about 7 years or less, which over time, can be very costly.

Dentures and Removable Partial Dentures

Full dentures and partial dentures are made of a plastic, resin, or metal base with prosthetic teeth attached, and the base of the denture typically matches the color of your gums for a more realistic appearance.

Removable dentures can be easily taken out of your mouth for cleaning and care, and partial dentures include some form of metal clasps that allows them to attach to your remaining teeth.

In some cases, your dentist may recommend that you have crowns or caps placed on your remaining natural teeth in order to protect them, and crowns or caps may also improve the security of your partial denture.

Dentures are largely regarded as the most affordable conventional option, but they are also less comfortable and less secure than other methods of replacing teeth, and they can also impact your speech and ability to chew.

Conventional dentures also generally do not have as much of a realistic appearance as other options, nor do they function the same way. Dentures generally only last around 7-15 years, and because they are prone to breakage and wear and tear, you should plan to need your dentures replaced every few years.

Stabili-Teeth™: A Same Day, Lower Cost Solution

If conventional methods of replacing missing teeth do not sound like the best fit for you because of pricing, stability, or the durability of your results, Stabili-Teeth™ may be the solution you need.

Stabili-Teeth™ was created as an alternative to the traditional DENTURES AND FIXED DETACHABLES (as in Clear Choice or All-on-Four) because although dentures have their downfalls, they have been proven to work marginally, and while Fixed Detachables work great, the cost remains very high.

Stabili-Teeth™ builds off of the concepts that have been successful and improve upon the aspects of a denture that have failed in the past. Stabili-Teeth™ is a modern solution that gives you the amazing results you deserve without the high costs or high maintenance.

Plus, Stabili-Teeth™ comes with a 5-year warranty and free routine clinical exams and cleanings every 3 months for the first year after your procedure. With Stabili-Teeth™, you leave the office on the day of your implant surgery with a full set of stabilized prosthetic teeth that look and function like normal teeth, NOT a denture, so that you are never left without functional teeth, and you keep this set of teeth even once your final prostheses have been placed after your mouth heals.

If you are ready to bring joy back into your life and enjoy the smile of your dreams, Stabili-Teeth™ can help.

The Bottom Line

If you are suffering from tooth loss, tooth extraction, or tooth decay and are looking for the best option for replacement or implant treatment, conventional methods of teeth replacement all have various disadvantages.

Some options are more cost-effective but lack the stability you need for long-lasting results, and other options are more secure and durable but come at much higher and impractical prices. What may seem like a good option may actually increase your probability of natural tooth rot or bone loss due to anchors used on abutment teeth, or you may not be a good candidate for other implant restorations due to the bone in your upper or lower jaw.

Stabili-Teeth™ is a lower cost solution that gives you amazing same day results, and you will not be left without functional teeth during any part of the process.

Stabili-Teeth™ incorporates dental implants to get you the durability you deserve at prices you can afford, and with a 5-year warranty and all-inclusive pricing, Stabili-Teeth™ may be the perfect solution for your missing teeth
